Inaugural Lecture Nicolaas Vriend: On Coordination.

Skeel Lecture Theatre, People"s Palace, Queen Mary, University of London, Mile End Road London, E1 4NS A reception will follow the lecture. RSVP by Friday 19 March 2010. Many social situations can be characterised as a coordination problem; situations that have multiple possible solutions and require those involved to coordinate on the same solution. We will examine a number of such problems; illustrating their commonness and relevance, and analysing individual behaviour as well as social outcomes. Nicolaas Vriend studied Economics at the University of Amsterdam from 1980 to 1987, finished his PhD at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy) in 1993, and joined Queen Mary, University of London in 1997.
