This module presents the theoretical underpinnings of modern macroeconomic policy, providing a critical understanding of the policy debate and knowledge of the tools of the trade. Topics covered include: fiscal policy, temporary vs. permanent tax changes, policy sustainability, money creation, seignorage, inflation, monetary policy rules, UK monetary arrangements, and liquidity traps.
