Criteria for admission
MSc admission
You should have at least an upper-second class honours degree, or equivalent, normally, but not strictly, in Economics. Some background in quantitative subjects is advisable. Students are expected to sit pre-sessional statistics and mathematics examinations following intensive pre-sessional modules in September.
Graduate Diploma admission
For entry to the Graduate Diploma, applicants should have an undergraduate degree from a recognised higher education institution, normally at an overall standard at least equivalent to lower second class honours in the UK university system.
Proficiency in English
If your first language is not English, you must provide evidence that your English skills are sufficient by including with your application details of recognised language qualifications and experience in using English. We require a minimum score of 6.5 (IELTS) or 575 (TOEFL). (For international applicants, your local British Council Office can help.)
If you need to improve your proficiency in English, the College runs a programme of English language courses between July and September. Further information can be obtained from the Admissions and Research Office (Tel +44 20 7882 5074, Fax +44 20 7882 5588).
