ECOM083 - Topics in Macroeconomics
This module covers topics in theoretical and empirical macroeconomics such as: advanced numerical techniques, Markov processes, dynamic programming, recursive competitive equilibrium, real business cycles, asset pricing theory and empirics, consumption theory, contracts and risk sharing, self-insurance, incomplete markets, optimal taxation, fiscalmonetary theories of inflation, and equilibrium unemployment. In any particular year the topics covered are at the discretion of the instructors.
Topics in Macroeconomics is optional for both MRes degrees (each candidate must select two of the four Topics modules), and registration is restricted to students on these programmes. Successful completion of the module will equip students to conduct publishable research in macroeconomic theory or empirical macroeconomics.
