QUMMIF news
This year the QUMMIF Postgraduate Investment Club will be arranging various internal and external events. Some of the events planned for this year are;
MSc Boat Party
On Friday 10th June, students celebrated the end of their examinations by setting sail along the Thames on board the Pride of London, for the MSc boat party. Around 150 students, staff and alumni attended the party, and did not allow the occasional drop of rain to dampen their spirits, as they took in the famous landmarks of London, including the Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, Tower Bridge and The Dome whilst eating, drinking and dancing the night away.
Economics Society welcome letter
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all freshers and returning students to the School of Economics and Finance. The Economics Society is one of the biggest societies at Queen Mary, holding many events which aim to enhance the student experience at QMUL: events such as CV boosters, trading games, excursions abroad and our end of term socials.
This year the society has successfully attained sponsorship from BP integrated supply and trading, and CIMA. We will be holding a number of events with our sponsors – Look out for more details.
Qummif Dinner 2011 - Celebrating student success
The School of Economics and Finance's postgraduate Student Investment Club (QUMMIF) held its Bull's Dinner, a black tie event, on Saturday the 30th of July 2011.
Student team is victorious in Economics Football Championship Final 2011
Congratulations to the 2nd year undergraduate student team who beat the staff team in the final of the Economics Football Championship last Wednesday.
A good game was played by both sides, and the staff team's hopes were raised by the 5-5 equaliser by Student Support Manager Andrew Keegan, but the students emerged victorious yet again.
Over £100 was raised for Great Ormond street, so well done all players!

Economics Society update
‘New Year, New Look’. If the Economics Society had a motto, that would be word perfect. The New Year has provided us with a timely opportunity to enhance our society with a fresh look, in particular revamping our logo, alongside a completely new set of colours. Very soon, committee members will be modelling our impressive hoodies for this academic year. Keep an eye and ear out, as we’ll be taking orders in the upcoming weeks. Last semester, the society held several popular events, both social and career-orientated; this semester won’t be any different.
