School of Economics and Finance excels in National Student Survey (NSS)
The 2011 National Student Survey has confirmed the School of Economics and Finance as one of the top UK Economics Schools for student experience. 93% of our students have rated the overall quality of their course good or very good, 8% points above the national average for Economics Schools. This result places the School in seventh position among all UK Economics Schools for overall student satisfaction.
QM Economics and Finance student Selina Dhesy shares her experience
Selina graduated from the School of Economics and Finance with an BSc in Economics, and shortly after graduation started working in purchasing and supply. She uses methods she learnt in her degree for analysing spend and developing strategy.

New Bloomberg Data Computers
The School will soon be introducing a fantastic new facility for students. W307, one of the two PC Labs located within the School of Economics and Finance, will be installed with a number of Bloomberg Data Computers. Students within the School will have exclusive access to the Bloomberg platform within the lab. Along with data, the platform will provide students with access to all the news, analytics, communications, charts, liquidity, functionalities and execution services that you will need to put knowledge into action.

International Exchange Programme
The international exchange programme enables students from Queen Mary to spend a year or the autumn semester at one of our partner institutions. First year students enrolled on a three-year programme are invited to apply to spend the second year (or first semester of the second year) of their Queen Mary undergraduate degree course overseas.
Francisco Gari, a second-year BSc Economics student at QMUL, is currently studying at the University of Melbourne as part of the International Exchange Programme, and shared with us a few thoughts about the scheme:
Franklin Allen's SEF Showcase Lecture
Last Thursday, Franklin Allen of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania gave the annual Showcase Lecture for the School of Economics and Finance. The event was well-attended and followed by a drinks reception.

Best school for Student support
The School was delighted to receive the award for best student support at the course representative award ceremony that took place on the Monday 8th March. This prestigious event took place in Drapers Hall in the city. George Kapetanios was delighted to be able to attend and help celebrate the students success and contribution to the School.
