The School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary, University of London is recognised as one of the UK’s top departments. We have over 40 full time academic staff and 800 students from all over the world, following a range of Bachelors and Masters degrees, as well as PhDs.

The breadth and depth of our expertise enable us to offer courses and supervision in virtually all major areas of Economics and Finance and our quality of teaching and research has been widely acknowledged.

Our research excellence

We performed exceptionally well in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), which recognised the department as among the top six economics departments in the UK for overall research quality.

Our staff

Location

The School of Economics and Finance is located close to London’s main financial districts in Queen Mary’s main campus in Mile End, a creative and culturally diverse area of east London.

We are the only university in London offering a completely self-contained campus at our Mile End home. Students are able to live in award winning accommodation in our Student Village, whilst benefiting from the friendly campus atmosphere, close proximity to lectures, as well as the excitement of London life.

Some lectures are also held in our campus in Charterhouse Square located in central London, near Barbican and Farringdon.
