About the School of Economics and Finance
The School of Economics and Finance is located at Mile End, two miles east of the Tower of London and within easy reach of the City, the West End and the financial institutions of Docklands. London offers students not only the cultural life of a great capital city, but also a wealth of academic facilities. There are world-renowned libraries and research institutes, as well as the other teaching colleges of the University of London. Students in London have easy access to a range and depth of expertise which few cities can rival. There is a wide range of seminar programmes in the various colleges of the University of London, and in other universities located in London, so that students can hear many of the world's leading economists who are either based in or making research visits to London. The college website also has more information for prospective students and international students.

About the School
- The School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary is recognised for the excellence of both its teaching and research. With a RAE Grade 5 School with 26 research active staff, we offer four MSc programmes in Economics and Finance and we have a vibrant community of students studying for PhDs.
- We are recognised by the ESRC for full-time and part-time studentships. The MSc in Economics has been recognised under the ESRC's new 1+3 funding regime, enabling those who wish to continue on from their masters work to doctoral research to apply for funding to cover both their MSc and PhD.
- We also have an excellent record of attracting College studentships. These offer students working in economics the opportunity to develop their own research topic rather than being constrained by pre-existing programmes.
- We also offer a nine month Graduate Diploma designed to help students interested in the MSc programme, but with non-economics degrees or limited background knowledge of economics.
